The Close Brothers SME Apprentice Programme continued the success of its first two years by launching phase three of the initiative in 2017. To date, we have contributed to the funding of 40 new apprentices within the manufacturing sector in and around the Sheffield and Birmingham area.
This year, we are proud to be working with the Road Haulage Association (RHA) to launch a brand new initiative that addresses the skills gap within the transport sector. This pioneering programme will help pay for 20 SME members of the RHA (those with less than 20 vehicles) who might otherwise be unable to afford to take on a new apprentice Large Goods Vehicle driver under the age of 24. This new partnership with the RHA cements our long established commitment to supporting SMEs secure the skills they need for future growth.
The RHA and Close Brothers Asset Finance have joined forces to launch a pioneering programme to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) secure the skills they need for future growth by recruiting young drivers into the transport sector.
